Freshman Ronisha Stennis scored 20 points Saturday as the Southeast Community College-Beatrice Lady Storm downed visiting McCook, 69-61.
“This was a hard-fought game with two very aggressive teams,” Southeast coach Vicki Wooton said.
Stennis scored 13 of her team-high 20 points in the second half.
Southeast led 27-23 at halftime and outscored McCook 42-28 in the second half.
Scoring in double figures for the Lady Storm, along with Stennis, were Ashley Strickland with 12 points and Jasmine Archie and Jenny Synoweicki with 11 each.
“We did a nice job of getting the ball to the open player for the best shot,” Wooton said.
