Holiday Hoops Clinic Saturday

The Holiday Hoops Free Basketball Clinic for Beatrice students through sixth-grade will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 13.

Open to both boys and girls, the clinic sessions will be led by Beatrice boys basketball coach Jim Weeks, his staff and players and Beatrice girls basketball coach Steve Hartman, his staff and players.

This Saturday, the boys sessions will be at The O Zone at the high school, while the girls sessions will be in the auxiliary gym.

Pre-kindergarten through first-graders will attend from 9 a.m.-9:45 a.m., second through third-graders, 9:45 a.m.-10:30 a.m. and fourth through sixth-graders, 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m.

A similar schedule will be held next Dec. 13, but all sessions for both boys and girls will be held at the Beatrice Middle School gym.

Each student attending the clinic will receive a basketball courtesy of Pinnacle Bank.

Preregistration for the free clinic is not necessary.

This is truly a wonderful thing that Coaches Weeks and Hartman do for the youth of Beatrice. Many Beatrice star basketball players attended these clinics when they were first learning to play basketball. The clinics are free and a great opportunity for our youth to learn the sport! Hats off to Weeks and Hartman! They are truly an asset to our community!
