BEATRICE -- The Gage County Board of Supervisors has again rejected a grant to add an attorney to the county attorney’s office to prosecute alcohol-related offenses.
Gage County Attorney Randy Ritnour asked the board to consider the amended grant offer at its Wednesday meeting.
In July, the board voted to reject a $44,000 federal grant to the county attorney’s office, saying accepting the money through the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety would cost the county too much in the long run.
The Office of Highway Safety boosted the size of the grant to $96,370, Ritnour asked supervisors to reconsider.
They voted Wednesday to reject the offer.
