The Gage County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a $7,000 laptop computer from a local Beatrice business.

The Oregon Trail Equipment and Supply Store, located at 21693 U.S. Highway 77, was broken into and a $7,000 laptop computer was taken sometime during the weekend of July 19 and 20, according to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.

The unknown burglars gained entrance into the business after throwing a large wood block through the southwest window at the back of the store, deputies reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Gage County Sheriff’s Office at 402-223-5222 or the Gage County Crimestoppers at 402-228-4343.

sounds to me like someone should have done some shopping around, or are they directing missiles out there? For that kind of price the thing better came with Onstar so they can locate it easily.

A $7000 lap top?!?! Someone broke into a store that has tons of pricey merchandise and they steal only a laptap? Someone needs to tell them about Dell or Best Buy! I think they made a mistake in their estimate.

Do you really know the cost of what computers with decent systems cost? Especially those for a business?
$7,000 is a good price!

YES, actually I do.
For $7,000 it must be some upperscale, huge memory and capacity, fancy smancy, box with all sorts of bells and whistles. I am sure for that price you must have a receipt and insurance so it shouldn't be a problem for replacement.

Anyone that would spend $7000 on a business computer needs to have their head examined. A person might spend that on a high end workstation with all of the 3-D imaging software but not a business laptop.
it was the green

Must have had some of that John Deere green paint on it, that stuff sure makes their tractors pricey :)
