Oh but you got invited to use BOTH tickets tonight :) Were they actually separate tickets or both on the same pass so you couldn't even bring an extra friend with you to tonight's show?do you really think people can control the weather

any other outdoor concert I've bought tickets for I was able to get the money back on a cancellation though, I realize the show is a risk but the money generally is not. Check any ticketmaster outdoor concert and you'll find a refund policy on it.right decision

Maybe those criticizing should take time out of their busy schedules to serve on the Fair Board - perhaps they could do a much better job. These folks take time off work during the fair, and put in many long hard hours over the entire year trying to make each year's fair the best it can be. Maybe next year you should check the ticket policy before purchasing - this isn't Ticketmaster. This is a county fair trying to provide a good time for the entire county. I think it is a shame that the weather interferred and I'm sure caused a loss of revenue for all involved. As far as I know it is very rare, if ever, that a show has to be cancelled. I'm sure it was a hard decision for those involved - but apparently they thought that everyone's safety was more important than the concert. Thanks to the Fair Board for an excellent 2008 Gage County Fair, in spite of the weather!should plan for this

Having a full week of outdoor events each year I'd think the fair board would purchase an insurance policy to cover them on this - that way if weather or something else shuts down a show the folks get refunds. Yes you pay a little each year but you can budget for that and it keeps you from paying a large amount when it does happen. What would have happened if weather shut down all 3 shows and the board lost all walk-up purchases on all of them? With an insurance policy they'd be covered still, wouldn't have the income they normally had but it would cover whatever costs they have to pay whether the show goes on or not.observed

for everyone complaining.....step up to the plate and volunteer your time to the fair board. It's a chance you take when planning outdoor concerts. They do the best they can.thanks fair board

I just recently moved to this town, couple months ago, and will likely be volunteering time to several organizations. So now that I have seen the fair and am for the most part impressed they are one group I will be contacting, anybody care to recommend others? I'm sure there will be more opportunities than actual time so I'll have to narrow it down to maybe 3-4 groups, but I'd like to hear what all is out there.web reader

"To those that asked"... There are many organizations that you could join. One that I would suggest, (my husband and I are very active members) especially since you are new to the community and could meet people would be the Eagles Club. They have a very active Arie club for the men and a great Auxillary club for the women. They have many activities, such as their shuffle board league on Sundays, pool league, etc. The people there are very personable and welcome any new members. This is a non-profit org. and give back to the community in many ways. They do many fundraisers. They have a full lounge and diningroom. The members are a mixture of all ages. Come down and try it. This is just a suggestion - yeah, I am giving them a big plug, but Beatrice has many orgs. that would be great to join also. Contact the Chamber and they can give you a list of org. you might be interested in. Welcome to Beatrice!!!pck

Your right, this isn't ticketmaster,.....welcome to Beatrice....If the fair wasn't going to refund these peoples money, they should have done something else to compensate ... or did they?Passport Holders

You lost a whopping $2. Stop complaining. The passports are a deal. Did you go to the fairgrounds or did you stay at home? Did you go the signing after the concert was cancelled? You could have met him in person. The fair board puts in LONG hours during the fair on little sleep. They deserve a huge pat on the back. I visited with a member on Tursday night and they were REALLY upset that they had to cancel the concert. They haven't cancelled a concert since they joined the board in 1988. That's a great record!

I was at Country Stampede this year, paid a lot for the tickets and lost a whole day of concerts due to the weather. No refund for us either. That is what you deal with when you buy passbook tickets for several concerts. Deal with it. They still have to pay the performer for coming.reader

I am new to the area. I was really excited when I heard that Tracy Lawrence was going to be in town. I bought tickets for my wife and I and planned on having a great evening. All the concerts at county fairs and such have been General Admission equals standing on the track. I was very dissappointed when I arrived and there were rows of lawn chairs lined up. I like the atmosphere when you can dance around and have a good time. Everyone on the track sat there and stared like zombies. I think in the future if people want to bring chairs there should be areas set up to the side of the stage on the track. That way the fans who would like to stand could be in the center which I think the entertainers would enjoy too. If people are standing and dancing the entertainer feeds off of that. It makes for a higher energy for the show. Hopefully next year I can buy a ticket and stand where I want. If you want to sit. Go to the grandstand.to unhappy
