Beatrice City Council to consider resolutions regarding legal services

Legal services for the city of Beatrice will be the topic of discussion Monday night at the next meeting of the Beatrice City Council scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Beatrice Public Schools Administration Building.

The council is scheduled to vote on resolutions terminating the current legal services contract and appointing Tobias Tempelmeyer as the new full-time city attorney.

Tempelmeyer recently resigned as the Fairbury city attorney.

In other business:

Hayes Street: Approve/deny bid for Hayes Street paving district to Trauernicht Construction in the amount of $39,590 as recommended by the Board of Public Works.

Plaza Ridge: Approve/deny change order for the Plaza Ridge concrete ditch project decreasing the contract amount by $3,390, making the final payment $25,871 to R.L. Tiemann Construction as recommended by the BPW.

Demolitions: Approve/deny demolition cost of $5,000 to R.L. Tiemann Construction for dilapidated structure at 512 N. 13th St. Approve/deny demolition cost of $4,150 to Carstens Construction for dilapidated structure at 311 N. Sumner St.

Ambulance write-offs: Approve/deny ambulance write-offs and collection listings.

Liquor permit: Approve/deny special designated liquor permit application of Risky’s II for the Wounded Warriors Project Poker Run on July 19 at 2317 N. Sixth St. parking lot from 12 p.m.-1 a.m.

Aerial platform: Receive bids for the purchase of a new aerial platform truck for the fire department.

Annexation: Approve/deny second reading of the ordinance annexing various parcels of land west of U.S. Highway 77, including Christensen Field, excluding Store Kraft Manufacturing.

Beatrice Plus: Discussion regarding Beatrice Plus Committee application procedures and meeting dates.

Retirement incentive: Results of the early retirement incentive program.
