Ritnour: No truth to rumors Ann Marie Kelley found

Tuesday, May 20, 2008 - 07:38:37 pm CDT

Rumors circulating around Beatrice that Ann Marie Kelley, a 36-year-old rural Filley woman missing since April 15, has been found are false, Gage County Attorney Randall Ritnour said Tuesday evening.

“There is nothing to report, and these rumors have no basis in fact,” Ritnour said in a telephone interview.

Ritnour said his office received a call Tuesday morning from KUTT Radio saying someone had contacted the station claiming Kelley had been found. A number of people also called the Gage County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday asking if Kelley had been found, but Sheriff Millard “Gus” Gustafson said there was no truth to the reports.

“I wish we had found her,” Gustafson said.

Ritnour said Gustafson asked him about 6 p.m. Tuesday if the county should issue a press release saying Kelley remains missing and the search for her and her 1991 Plymouth Voyager minivan continues.

An official statement will likely be released some time Wednesday, Ritnour said.

One of the stories heard Tuesday was that Kelley and her van were found in the Holmesville quarry. Ritnour, however, said he heard nothing about that.

I spoke with a relative who said Ann's sister do not believe she left voluntarily. She would not leave her kids.

RANDY, YOU COULD STOP ALL THIS IF YOU WOULD RELEASE WHY YOU DON'T THINK FOUL PLAY IS INVOLVED

I believe they know something (the authorities) but want the guilty party to do or say something so they can make charges stick without a body. Some evidence must point to Ann being the subject of something harmful. I pray for her kids.

There is alot that seems to be left out. There was a news release this morning that her husband was arrested for drugs. Could that possibly be a reason for being gone?

If foul play is involved, did it ever occur to you that any information they've collected is evidence and not everything can be released to the general public? There are laws that have to be followed and unless you're an expert, quit criticizing law enforcement. I'm sure they are just as anxious to find her as anyone involved.
Question

I heard on the radio and saw in Lincoln paper that there is no truth to Ann being in the Holmesville quarry. How come the officials are so sure about that. Do they know where she is? Did they search the quarry?
