Norris Lady Titans claim B-2 District championship

PLATTSMOUTH — Firth Norris Lady Titans claimed top honors at the B-2 District track and field meet in Plattsmouth last week.

The Lady Titans scored 95 points, while runner-up Waverly had 91.

Norris earned two individual district championships.

Abigail Kroese won the 100-meter hurdles, while Stevie Grossenbacher won the 300-meter hurdles.

The Lady Titans also earned championship honors in the 3200-meter relay with the team of Jami Pritschau, Sarah Hoefler, Sonny Adkins and Annelise Madison.

Also qualifying for state for the Lady Titans were Pritschau, who was fourth in the 200-meter dash and second in the 400-meter dash; Madison, who was fourth in the 1600-meter run and third in the 3200-meter run; Gretchen Kroese, who was second in the 100-meter hurdles and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles; and Abigail Olsen, who was third in the 100-meter hurdles.

The Lady Titans’ 400-meter relay of Abigail Kroese, Gretchen Kroese, Grossenbacher and Julia Krueger also qualified for state.

In the boys division, Norris finished fourth overall with 68 points.

Plattsmouth won the boys team championship with 154 points, while runner-up Syracuse had 89.

Blake Huls won the only district championship for Norris, claiming the high jump title.

Also qualifying for the Titans were Adam Baxa, who was second in the long jump; Garrett Sawyer, who was third in the discus; Rudolph Mignon, who was third in the 3200-meter run; and Cameron Dudley, who was second in the 110-meter hurdles and second in the 300-meter hurdles.
