Main Street Beatrice Farmers Market to begin

The 2008 season for the Main Street Beatrice Farmers Market is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 5, on Fifth Street between High and Ella streets in front of Beatrice Middle School.

Main Street Beatrice welcomes area growers to sell high-quality, fresh produce at competitive prices. Produce available will be fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, eggs and baked goods. Non-food vendors, such as artists, crafts designers, flower vendors, performers, etc., are also welcome.

All products must be homegrown or homemade.

Vendor fees are $80 for the season or $10 per week for the non-commercial vendor and $160 for the season or $20 per week for a commercial vendor.

Individuals interested in selling at the Farmers Market or entertainers should contact Main Street Beatrice at 402-223-3244 or mainst@inebraska.com.

A special Homestead Days event on Thursday, June 12, will feature a Ribfest and entertainment on two stages, along with activities for the entire family.

An additional market is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, in conjunction with the City-Wide Crazy-Daze sale in Beatrice. There will be no charge for participation.

The market will be open from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Thursdays through at least Aug. 28.
