Harlan G. Peek, 79 years of age, of Beatrice, Neb., passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Wymore Sunday morning, May 10, 2008. He was born on May 3, 1929, in Beatrice to John and May Peek, and lived in Beatrice for most all of his life.
He married Gloria VanNest on December 3, 1977. She passed away in 2001. He married Clara Bertram on August 7, 2007. Harlan worked as a spray painter at Store Kraft in Beatrice for 42 years. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Beatrice and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Peek. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Christ Community Church, 2727 Lincoln Street, Beatrice, with the Rev. Jack Magness officiating. Inurnment will be in the Tecumseh Cemetery, Tecumseh, Neb. Cremation has taken place. There will be a register book available to sign at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, Sixth and Washington streets, Beatrice, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in charge. Messages of condolence can be sent to: rich@griffithshovendick.com.
