Byron C. Holcombe, age 54, died at home in Huntington, West Virginia, Saturday, May 10, 2008, from a battle with seizures. Byron was born on December 24, 1953, in Los Angeles, California, to Eileen Holcombe.

After the death of his wife, Irma C. Holcombe, he moved many times. He settled in Huntington, West Virginia, in August 2007, where he pursued a bachelors degree and became a pastor and teacher for the Pillar of Truth Bible Institute. Byron loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and camping.

Byron is survived by his wife, Cheryl; children, Jeremy and Shannon Holcombe, Bethany and Shawn Meints, Crystal Holcombe, Jason Holcombe, and Melisa Aragon, all of Beatrice, Neb., and Chayna and Joe LeBeau of Rochester, Minnesota. His brothers include Mark and Richard Holcombe of Beatrice, Vernnon Holcombe of Amarillo, Texas, and the late David Holcombe. He is further survived by 10 grandchildren, Noah and Lucas Holcombe, Shelby and Skylar Meints, Balinda, Isach, Gabriel and Tristin LeBeau, and Alexis and Alyssa Aragon.

Services will be held Thursday, May 15, at 7 p.m. at Christ Community Church located at 2727 Lincoln Blvd. in Beatrice, with Pastor Jack Magness officiating.
