GENEVA - DeWitt Tri County’s Lady Trojans claimed top honors recently at the Geneva-Fillmore Central Invitational track and field meet.
The Lady Trojans outdistanced host Fillmore Central, 133-123, to win the championship.
Tri County’s Sarah Genrich won two events for the Lady Trojans, picking up victories in the triple jump and long jump.
Bailey Wollenburg won the 100-meter hurdles for Tri County, while Elizabeth Timberlake won the 3200-meter run.
Tri County also won the 3200-meter relay with Shelby Zimmerman, Emma Knust, Kelsey Hofstetter and Katey Pflanz and the 400-meter weight relay with Allyssa Neumann, Jessica Zimmerman, Annie Bock and Mariah Brandt.
In the boys division, Tri County finished second to Hebron-Thayer Central, 146-132.
Chris Riesen was a double event winner for the Trojans, claiming the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs.
Other event winnrs for Tri County were Lance Buss, discus; Austin Zimmerman, 110-meter hurdles; and Jesse Koenig, 400-meter dash.
The Trojans also won the 1600-meter relay.
