Doniphan golfer claims 2008 Homesteader crown

Doniphan golfer Jim Rash earned top honors in the Championship Flight of The Homesteader golf tournament over the weekend at the Beatrice Country Club.

Rash topped the field of 34 golfers who completed play in the Championship Flight with a 151.

Dave Shillinglaw of Papillion finished second to Rash, also carding a 151. Tom Kelley of Omaha was third with a 153, while Nate Koch of Beatrice was fourth with a 154.

Other flight winners included Roger Gann, Lincoln, First Flight; David Gaden, Lincoln, Second Flight; David Rasing, Omaha, Third Flight; and Bill Lawson, Omaha, Senior Flight.
