Rose Mildred Parker, 87, of Fort Collins, Colo., passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Loveland. Rose was born January 21, 1921, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, to Anna Marie (Lenhart) and Jon J. Vetrovsky.

She migrated from Prague as an infant with her parents and two sisters through Ellis Island. They later moved to Virginia, Nebraska, where she graduated from high school. After high school, she attended Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska, later moving to North Platte, where she worked as a bookkeeper at Cornhusker International. Rose was united in marriage to Floyd Parker on May 14, 1950, in North Platte. Together they later moved to Loveland, Colorado, where she worked for McKee Hospital and also Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins in the Medical Records department. Rose loved to volunteer her time and had been volunteering at Poudre Valley Hospital since 1990. Rose was very involved in the United Methodist Church, as well as the Circle Lois group through the church, and held a 50-plus-year membership with the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and loved flowers.

Rose is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents; her brother, Frank Vetrovsky; her sisters, Mary Sothan and Agnes Mencl.

Visitation was held 8:30 a.m.-noon Monday, May 5, 2008, at Allnutt Drake Chapel, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, Colo., with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. Interment held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins. A reception followed at the Allnutt Reception Center.
