Due to the potential spreading of flu, the Good Samaritan Society-Beatrice will close its building to all visitors until the Influenza virus has run its course in the Beatrice area.
Family members, visitors or volunteers will not be allowed into the building. The closing will remain in effect until Influenza A occurrences drop according to the major clinics in Beatrice. The closing could last a month or more, but the center hopes to be able to reopen its doors in a few weeks.
The Good Samaritan Society-Beatrice asks that the public helps keep residents healthy by not visiting during this time. They also ask that family members not be taken into the public where they could become infected with the Influenza A virus and bring it back to the other residents of the facility.
With Influenza, patients are contagious before they start feeling ill and seniors are more vulnerable to the illness.
The center encourages the public to call family members or friends as often as possible. Dial 402-228-3304 and you will be connected to the resident phone. E-mail may be sent to gss4870@good-sam.com. Cards and care packages are always welcome through the mail.
