Neapco has eliminated 20 jobs from its Beatrice plant as a result of a drop in business, company officials have announced.

Neapco LLC implemented a company reorganization plan that included an adjustment to staffing levels, and determined it was necessary to eliminate 20 jobs from the company’s Beatrice location, Dale Johnson, general manager at Neapco’s Beatrice facility, said.

About 186 workers remain employed with Neapco, he said. Many of those have been reassigned duties.

Beatrice needs more professional and technical jobs. Too many blue-collar jobs, which reflects the culture. That is why I got out of there many years ago.

Actually they make the universal joints that go on driveshafts as well as other bearing products.

They are based in New England and I believe that NEAPCO stands for New England Auto Parts Company.

If you want we hardly have any blue collar jobs or jobs of any kind left in this town. If you want that kind of a job, you have to move.
