The second annual Miracle Treat Day will be Thursday, Aug. 9 at Dairy Queen and DQ Grill and Chill restaurants across the United States and Canada.
On Thursday, a portion of all sales of Blizzard frozen treats will go toward the 170 children's hospitals across the United States.
Last year's Miracle Treat Day raised $3.3 million for children's hospitals.
Since 1985, International Dairy Queen has raised more than $65 million for the Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across the country.
In Beatrice, the money raised from the Blizzard sales will go to the Methodist Children's Hospital in Omaha.
Amber Oakes, manager of the East Court Street Dairy Queen in Beatrice, said her establishment raised $1,069.80 last year in the event. The manager of the West Court Street Dairy Queen in Beatrice was not available.
