The state agency of Nebraska Workforce Development-Department of Labor received the awardMay 11 for ongoing efforts in quality and performance excellence. It is the first time a state government agency earned the award.
The award is presented to businesses that are models in the journey for excellence. Overall, there are three Edgerton Awards: the Edgerton Award of Commitment, the Edgerton Award of Progress and the Edgerton Award of Excellence.
All Edgerton Award applicants completed a report summarizing their quality and performance excellence practices in the categories of leadership, strategic planning, customer (patient) and market focus, information and knowledge management, human resources, process management and business results.
Examiners then review each applicant's report, conduct on-site reviews and provide individualized feedback reports.
