A 22-year-old Nebraska Wesleyan University student from Beatrice remained in critical condition at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln on Monday following an early Friday morning fire at the university.
Travis Mann, a 2003 Beatrice High School graduate and a senior at NWU, was one of three residents of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity house who were critically injured in the fire. A fourth student, Ryan Stewart, 19, of Ord, died in the blaze.
The other injured students were Aaron McGuire, 20, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and David Spittler, 20, of Elkhorn.
Jan Yaussi, a Saint Elizabeth spokesperson, said Monday morning that Mann remained in critical condition, but she could not discuss specifics of his injuries.
Mann is the son of Nile and Cheri Dragoo of Beatrice.
Yaussi said the Dragoo-Mann family issued a statement over the weekend. “Travis and his family want to thank everyone for their prayers and thoughts. Please continue to keep us in your prayers,” the statement said.
