Genealogy booklet will help mark 150th

A Beatrice family genealogy booklet is in the making as part of the Beatrice 150th anniversary year next year. The booklet will feature present and past Beatrice families.

Along with the family sheet, short (500 words or less) ancedotes and/or summaries of family life in Beatrice may be added. Each family head of household may submit one family sheet free of charge.

A family sheet for someone who has died - parents, grandparents or others - may be sent in also.

Photos may be used at a cost of $2.50 per photo. The photos must be clearly marked on the back with the name of each person in the photo and the name of the submitter. If the photo was made after 1923 and is a professional photo, permission must be given by the owner of the photo to use it. Family snapshot photos may be used with the submitter's permission. Sending the photo to the committee constitutes permission.

Family sheets are available at the Beatrice Public Library, the Gage County Museum, Main Street Beatrice, Beatrice Chamber of Commerce and various other Beatrice locations.
